I've been using Upwork for about a year to hire marketers for our subscription-based business, but I'm very disappointed. The last time I posted a job, I received over 60 applications in 48 hours. Most of them were clearly mass-marketing. I spent 20 hours reviewing applications and conducting preliminary interviews, and in the end, the person I hired wasn't a good fit. I need someone for strategic marketing work where I have to make real decisions about budget and channels. So, I really need a more efficient way to find qualified candidates so I don't have to spend half my week screening applications.
