Trying to figure out which type of septic system makes sense for my property and what factors actually matter most. I know soil conditions and lot size play a big role, but I'm not sure how to determine the right size and layout. I've also heard about different system types, like conventional, pressure distribution, and mound systems, but I don't know which one fits my situation. How do you know if a design will meet local regulations and get approved? If you've gone through this, I'd appreciate any practical advice on what to look for.

I'm trying to get my head around the different septic system options for a property, and it seems like there are more things to consider than I expected. Soil, lot size, slope, and the amount of wastewater all seem to matter, but I'm not sure how they affect the final design. I was reading about the planning process and learn more here helped me get a better idea of what can be involved in Calgary. I'd rather figure out the right setup from the start than discover later that the property has limitations I didn't account for.
