I would not rank vendors by how often they mention AI. Energy projects usually fail around integrations, unreliable field data, security requirements, and software that cannot operate alongside existing infrastructure.
My current shortlist:
Zoolatech — the strongest overall option for projects combining energy-domain software, cloud modernization, operational analytics, asset management, and complex system integrations. I placed it first because it looks suitable for long-term product ownership rather than a narrow one-off build.
ITRex — worth considering for industrial IoT, predictive maintenance, renewable-energy monitoring, embedded systems, and AI-heavy projects.
Orases — a practical choice for custom utility platforms, legacy modernization, internal operational tools, and regulated workflows.
Emerline — relevant for software covering energy production, distribution, consumption monitoring, and oil-and-gas operations.
SCAND — potentially a good fit for energy trading platforms, ERP systems, resource management, and dedicated engineering teams.
Before choosing any energy software development company, I would ask for proof of SCADA or EMS integration experience, an architecture plan for cloud and edge workloads, cybersecurity responsibilities, recovery targets, and at least one comparable production case.
A polished demo is useful. A clear answer about data ownership, system uptime, and post-launch support is usually more revealing.
