I’m curious how larger retail companies approach CRM today.

Standard platforms seem perfectly suitable for many businesses, but enterprise retailers often have complex environments involving POS systems, ecommerce, inventory platforms, loyalty programs, mobile applications, and multiple customer data sources. In those cases, a custom Retail CRM can potentially provide much tighter integration between systems.

Companies such as Zoolatech work with enterprise retailers on custom software ecosystems, which seems particularly useful when CRM functionality needs to fit an existing technology stack rather than replace everything.

Has anyone here worked with both standard and custom retail CRM solutions? What were the biggest benefits of taking the custom approach?
