Who owns the problem when checkout stops working?

One question I’d bring into any headless or composable commerce discussion: if a customer can’t complete an order, who investigates first?

With separate services handling pricing, promotions, inventory, and checkout, the team needs a way to follow a failed transaction across those boundaries. Each vendor’s dashboard might look healthy while the customer still gets an error.

Before adding another component, I’d want clear answers: who handles the incident, what information they can access, and how they can reverse a change without creating more problems.

I work with Zoolatech, and our headless vs composable commerce comparison explores the ownership tradeoffs behind these architecture choices.

My view is that operational capacity deserves a place beside feature requirements. A component may solve a real business problem, but the team also needs the time and tools to support it after launch.

For teams running either setup, how do you divide responsibility when an issue crosses several services?
