Something that doesn't get enough attention in retail clienteling is employee turnover.

In luxury and premium retail, customers often build relationships with individual sales associates rather than the brand itself. When an experienced associate leaves, valuable knowledge about customer preferences, purchase history, and previous conversations can disappear with them.

A shared customer profile helps, but there's a difference between storing information and maintaining a genuine relationship.

This is one reason a well-designed clienteling strategy should support continuity across employees and store locations. The linked guide is from Zoolatech, where I work.

How do larger retailers handle this? Can technology realistically preserve personal relationships when associates change, or is some customer loyalty inevitably lost?
