Yeah, firewood and stone are still the classic, and honestly that’s enough to make great, authentic pizza at home. But you know, I looked into what the electronics in smart outdoor pizza ovens actually do, and there’s a point to them. For example, steady temperature and sensors save time for people who bake often and on a schedule, not just for the ritual of it. Maybe it’s even an option for people opening their own pizzeria who can’t afford super professional equipment yet.

At first I thought it might actually be cool to have more high-tech stuff, but then I thought, it’s really just a pizza oven. Not a regular oven and not an air fryer, just a basic oven. So I don’t get it either.

I recently decided to get into building a summer kitchen, and I want to set up a BBQ area with a grill and maybe a pizza oven. The way I see it, the oven should be made of stone, the firewood should be actual wood, and it should all just work together. I found a ton of options with electronics and all that stuff. I don’t get what that’s for.
