Former model-turned-singer/actress IU was recently revealed to be one of Jellyfish Entertainment's newest artists. The 19-year-old Nation's Little Sister is scheduled to release her first solo album, Love & Hate, on February 26. On top of that, she also reportedly has a part in MBC's upcoming show We Got Married as well as plans for a separate drama. SM Entertainment

2015 revenue of $245.3 million, with net profits of $48.4 million. SM also reported sales and revenues that exceed those of some of South Korea's major conglomerates, including Samsung Electronics and LG Group (due to Hallyu). SM is known as one of the Big Three entertainment companies in K-pop alongside YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment, which represent most major K-pop artists, from male groups Big Bang and 2NE1 to female artists IU and Ailee. Some of their biggest successes have been Super Junior, Girls' Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, TVXQ!, BoA, TVXQ!

Pledis Entertainment

One of many big-name entertainment companies that deal with K-Pop, Pledis Entertainment, has a group called Seventeen. Seventeen is an all-male group under Pledis Entertainment, meaning they are all signed by Pledis Entertainment to perform and do modeling work for them. In July 2016, it was reported that their members earn ₩4.5 billion won (US$4 million) each year. Not bad for pre-debut singers! The money is divided equally amongst each member, and payment comes from multiple different ways, including advertisement deals and product endorsements, which allows them to make such an absurd amount of money at such a young age. Why such a high starting wage?

This top talent agency was founded by Kim Kwang-soo, who entered JYP Entertainment as a trainee and left to start his own company. The agency has over 200 employees, many of whom are celebrities or former celebrities, including Rain, Se7en, ZE: A (aka Children of Empire), f(x), and T-ara.
