I’ve been browsing listings in different parts of Turkey and can’t decide where to focus. Antalya seems like an obvious choice — beaches, infrastructure, expat community — but I’ve also seen people talking about Izmir and some smaller coastal towns that are developing fast. I’m not planning to move there full-time, more like a long-term investment with occasional visits. Has anyone compared how prices and rental potential differ between these regions lately?

I went through the same dilemma last year. Antalya is great, but I ended up buying near Izmir because it’s less touristy and feels more “local.” Prices there are still growing, and the rental market is stable because of students and families. I learned a lot from browsing Real estate investment in Turkey — it gives a good overview of which areas are up-and-coming and what kind of yields you can expect. I’d say it depends on whether you want holiday rentals or long-term tenants.

I’ve noticed a lot of Europeans relocating to smaller coastal towns over the past few years. They’re looking for something quieter and more authentic, away from the big tourist centers. Many of those towns have improved infrastructure now — new roads, hospitals, even international schools. It’s kind of changing the vibe in a good way, making those places more livable without losing their charm.
