Did Smart Locks Influence Your Door Choice?
Originally I was only thinking about replacing the door itself, but now I'm also considering adding a smart lock. That has made me wonder whether certain doors work better with modern locking systems than others. Has anyone planned both upgrades together? Did everything fit smoothly, or were there compatibility issues that you didn't expect?

Upgraded our front entrance last fall and decided to add a keypad smart lock at the same time. The biggest headache we ran into was the backset distance and the thickness of the door slab. Standard smart locks need a very specific hole placement, so if you are buying a pre-hung unit, make sure the prep holes match your lock specs beforehand.
