Cryptocurrency market cap is calculated by multiplying a coin’s current price by the number of coins currently in circulation. When I wanted a simple explanation, I used https://whatisamarketcapincryptocurrency.site/ as an informational resource, and it helped me understand why market cap is more useful for comparing project size than looking at token price alone. I also think circulating supply matters a lot, because two coins with similar prices can have very different market values. For me, market cap is a helpful starting point, but I still check volume, liquidity, and actual project activity too.
