Fear Don’t Live Here Anymore
May, 2020, Los Angeles, California – While our world battles COVID-19 and our states start to ease quarantine restrictions, there have been plenty of song parodies at the virus. What we haven’t heard are messages of hope and affirmation for returning to life after the pandemic ends. Thankfully, rapper Johnny Crown heard this call early and has just released a five song EP, Fear Don’t Live Here Anymore.
In late April, Crown released a Grammy-worthy video of If You Were Wondering, available on YouTube. On his facebook account, Crown dedicated the Fear Don’t Live Here Anymore video to all the doctors, nurses, and health workers during this very trying time.
Crown’s voice and lyrical, vintage hip-hop style are meticulously coupled with affirmations for a post-pandemic world. These words of hope and love in each song are a vision for those doubting what might happen in the months and years to come.
In Brooklyn at the age of 12 Johnny Crown started creating his own beats, having picked up the art from his brother. Several years later, his brother gifted him a recording studio and Johnny started spitting bars. Fear Don’t Live Here Anymore is Crown’s first EP, but not his first album. He has 3 albums, 1 soundtrack, and several singles. Crown also has several videos, all creating an experience into the feeling and soul of his music. Three of the music videos, I.V.Y P.A.R.K, On My Mama, and Breadwinners are off his afro-beat LP Coolest Prince in the Jungle released in 2018. From Johnny Crown’s meager beginnings, he has grown and learned from life experience, taking chances and stepping outside the box, in ways other rappers simply don’t, including songs devoted to Mother Nature. In 2016 Crown moved to L.A. to pursue his goals further, which has provided many opportunities, broadened his passion, and opened many experiences.
So whether you were quarantined for months, part of the front line against COVD-19, or blessed to be a recovering survivor of COVID-19, Johnny Crown has a message for us all. We have all been through a lot, we all have some fear when it comes to life; however, now is the time for love and hope. Hit up your favorite music app for Johnny Crown’s newest release, Fear Don’t Live Here Anymore and move to the beat as you feel the uncertainty of today’s new normal melt away.
Johnny Crown is a rapper, author, comic book creator, stand-up comic and a mentor for Tina’s Angels and Richard’s Warriors a nonprofit organization started by Beyoncé’s mom and her husband to help kids from the inner cities.
