Action for Clean Environment Honors Seven Exemplary Organizations for Environmental Leadership
Seoul, June, 2020 - Action for Clean Environment (ACE) Honors Seven Exemplary Organizations for Environmental Leadership at 2020 Global Environment Awards Ceremony Action for Clean Environment recognized seven exemplary organizations for their contributions in advancing environmental leadership in 2020 at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul on June 24, 2020. This year’s award recipients included organizations from around the globe including Korea, US, China and Myanmar. A high-ranking panel of experts selected the most outstanding green visionaries, who come from an impressively wide range of categories with diverse achievements. Each recipient organization provided an overview of their environmental dedication during the luncheon. The award categories included Public Service, Healthcare, Business and Entertainment; with some awardees (Bill Lee, State of Tennessee Governor and Jennifer Zhang) giving their acceptance speeches on video.The ceremony was sponsored in part by Hanmi Pharmaceuticals and VIG Partners.
In his laudation, the chair of awards selection committee Dr. Sang-Yup Lee, Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at KAIST and Chair of the World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Biotechnology, stressed the importance of global environmental collaboration during pandemics: “In this day and age of COVID 19, the need to move towards a more sustainable way to interact with the environment is no longer a choice but every individual’s responsibility, and I am thrilled to honor and celebrate today’s award recipients who have contributed in ways that exemplify how we can achieve this together.”
"There’s never enough what we can do to give back to our mother earth, " said Jennifer Zhang,award-winning artist, Brilliant Miss World 2020 and who received the award in the entertainment category. "I will continue my work as a musician, model, actress and activist, as well as my social media voice to contribute to this important cause. Let’s cherish our planet, and start taking actions today to make our environment cleaner, healthier and more beautiful across the globe."
Tony Lee, Executive Director of Action for Clean Environment said: “The seven organizations awarded this year have made significant strides in environmental leadership and are at the forefront of raising environmental awareness globally.
