Hello everyone. I’ve been browsing examples of portraits made from photos, and I noticed that some look very realistic while others have more artistic or stylized details. I’m curious how much freedom artists usually have when creating these kinds of portraits.

If I order a portrait from a photo, will it look exactly like the original image, or can artists add their own creative elements? I actually like the idea of something artistic, but I’d still want the person in the portrait to be recognizable. I’m interested in custom made portraits but not sure what to expect from the final result.

Hi! Many artists try to keep a balance between accuracy and artistic interpretation. When creating custom portraits they usually follow the original photo closely but also adjust colors, lighting, or composition so the final image looks more like artwork rather than a simple copy.

When I was exploring different options I came across https://www.popartyou.com/ where artists produce custom made portraits from personal photos. What I liked is that the portrait still resembles the original person but has a distinctive artistic style. It feels more like a piece of art than just a printed photograph.

So if you want something recognizable but also creative, portraits like these can actually be a great compromise.

That sounds perfect. I definitely like the idea of a portrait that looks artistic.
