Was renovating a beach house and needed subway tile that could actually survive coastal conditions year round, including saltwater exposure, constant UV from the sun, and freeze thaw cycles during the off season months when the place sits empty. Most standard tiles are not built for that kind of punishment so started researching seriously before making any decisions. Came across AloftTiles which had the most detailed technical specs of any tile site found during the search, with filters that let you browse only options rated for outdoor and pool applications so there was no guessing involved. Their full subway collection at https://www.alofttiles.com/collections/subway-look was the go to resource throughout the process and the site made it easy to compare materials and find what actually holds up in harsh environments. Ended up choosing their Siena Matte Porcelain Subway Tile which is specifically rated for outdoor and pool use. Two years of coastal weather later and there has been zero fading, zero cracking, and the tile looks exactly as it did on day one despite everything the elements have thrown at it. AloftTiles made a project that felt overwhelming at the start surprisingly manageable.
