One of my developer friends had a project where he commissioned a full review of the blueprints before breaking ground, he says it saved him from having to make major structural changes. But I’m wondering if that really works every time, or if it was just a lucky break?

In fact, this is a great sign, not just good luck, when a comprehensive feasibility analysis is conducted before construction begins, it often helps identify hidden issues that would otherwise lead to costly changes down the line. This is the essence of this approach identifying problems early on, rather than reacting to them directly on the construction site. Various details of this are outlined here https://www.fields-builds.com/blog/cutting-costs-avoiding-delays-constructability-reviews in many cases, such an analysis improves coordination among all project participants and makes the entire process more seamless. So, your friend’s experience is a clear example of how early analysis can actually save time, money, and stress when done right.
