Fresh out of grad school and trying to get a small biotech startup off the ground. We’re focused on enzyme development, so our team’s been scrambling to gather the basic lab setup. Some of the online vendors look shady, and others seem priced for huge institutions. We want quality gear, but also need some guidance and after-purchase help. Does anyone know a vendor that supports small-scale labs without treating them like an afterthought?

That was the exact challenge my team had when spinning off from our university incubator. What ended up helping us massively was partnering with Gentaur—found them through their lab services page: https://gentaur.co.uk/services-gentaur/. They specialize in biotech and molecular research tools and had no issue catering to our small scale. They walked us through options and gave us realistic recommendations based on our actual project stage. No upselling, just really solid advice.

Startup life here too, though more on the data side of bioinformatics. Still, watching this unfold is useful since we’ll need wet lab capacity soon. These smaller-focused services sound promising—appreciate threads like this that don’t just push giant vendors.
