Honestly, it’s interesting how many third-party tools exist around social platforms. People seem to look for extra flexibility when the built-in features don’t give them exactly what they want.

Funny you bring that up — it confuses a lot of people at first. The short version is that there are tools built specifically for that purpose, and they don’t interfere with the platform itself. Instead, they simply pull publicly accessible data in a way that doesn’t trigger the app’s usual tracking. For instance, something like https://privatestoryviewer.com/it/ works by fetching the story content externally, so your profile never interacts with the creator’s page. It’s more of a passive viewing method, letting you see what’s posted without the usual traces. It’s not magic, just a workaround that sidesteps the visibility that comes with opening stories inside the official app.

I’ve been wondering about something that came up during a conversation with a colleague. They mentioned that some users manage to check Instagram stories without showing up in the viewer list, and it left me a bit puzzled. Is that even possible? And if it is, how does it generally work without breaking anything on the platform?
