Are metal barns actually practical for storing both hay and machinery?

The flexibility of agricultural steel barns sold through https://www.uspatriotsteel.com/ turned out to be exactly what made a combined setup possible. You can section off the interior however you want, add ventilation, adjust door sizes for tractors, and still get a dry, pest-resistant area for hay. Because the frame is steel, it stays stable even under heavy loads, and the wide-span design means you get a big open interior without columns getting in the way. It ends up being surprisingly practical for mixed farm storage.

I checked out traditional pole barns, but friends warned me about rot and constant repairs. My equipment is expensive, and hay needs dry conditions. Finding one structure that handles all that without needing constant patching has been my biggest challenge.

I’m trying to design a setup that fits both my livestock needs and my equipment storage. I don’t want separate barns because that doubles the cost. But I’m also worried that mixing hay, animals, and tractors in one space might get messy or unsafe if the structure isn’t right. Would a single metal barn be a workable option for farm use?
