Float value is one of the most important numbers attached to any CS2 skin, yet many players overlook it when they start trading. The float determines how worn the skin’s texture appears on the weapon model, which means two skins with the same wear label can still look noticeably different. A minimal wear skin with a float close to factory new might appear almost flawless, while another minimal wear item could show visible scratches. I started studying floats more seriously after noticing traders highlighting very specific numbers in their listings. While researching how float ranges work for different skins, I read several explanations at https://dmarket.com/cs2-wiki/ cs skins wiki. That material helped clarify how float ranges are assigned and why collectors sometimes pay extra for extremely low values within the same wear category.
