I had to reinstall Windows recently after changing several components in my computer, and I realized that I had forgotten how many things need to be checked afterward. Drivers, updates, privacy settings and activation all seem to be part of the process. The activation part is especially confusing because there are different types of licenses and different versions of Windows. I have also come across websites discussing various activation utilities, but I would rather understand what is actually required before using any third-party software. What do you normally check first after a fresh Windows installation?

After a clean installation, I would go through the basic system settings one by one. First, check Windows Update and install the available updates and drivers. Then open the activation section and confirm that the installed edition matches the license you own. If you use a Microsoft account with a digital license, signing in with the appropriate account can also be relevant. There are plenty of websites discussing tools such as kmspico, but I would avoid relying on unofficial activation software when the operating system already provides legitimate activation methods. A short checklist makes the whole post-installation process much easier to manage.

Thanks, having a simple checklist should make the whole reinstallation process much less confusing.
