THE TRUTH ABOUT THE HEROES OF YESTERYEAR
THE TRUTH ABOUT THE HEROES OF YESTERYEAR

Down through history, its been the "Lone Rangers" who
have brought law and order to the church.  Just one good
man can bring revival when he becomes an advocate of
truth and dares to challenge the hypocrisy in the church.

Here are a few heroes of yesteryear:  Elijah, Jeremiah, John
the Baptist, John Bunyan, John Wesley, and Charles G.
Finney.  All of those men opposed the religious system of
their time and demanded obedience to God's law.

Regarding the Sabbath Commandment, they didn't all
observe the same day.  Elijah, Jeremiah and John the
Baptist observed the the seventh day Sabbath (which
is God's holy day ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES.)

John Bunyan, John Wesley and Charles G. Finney
observed the first day of the week ACCORDING TO THE
TRADITIONS OF MEN. (They were in error.)   They were
not in rebellion against the light that they had; their error
was a sin of ignorance and was covered by the blood of
Jesus;  their hearts were perfect before God.

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light,
we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son
           cleanseth us from all sin."
                                      I Jn 1:7 (KJV)

From early times, the worship of Christianity  has been
corrupted.  Like ancient Israel, its apostasy from truth has
mixed the pure worship of the Creator with the Babylon
Mystery Religion.

Those heroes of yesteryear had a great influence for good
by correcting some of the evils of their generation.  They
should be respected for their work of reformation.  Even so,
a perfect heart does not always do a perfect work.  Here, the
scriptures speak of  Asa who also did a great work of
reformation --but he didn't complete the job ...

"But THE HIGH PLACES were not removed:
nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD
all his days"  I King 15:14 (KJV)

Many of THE HIGH PLACES had been the sites of
Canaanite shrines where Baal  (the sun god) and  the many
gods of the heathen  were worshipped.  That Canaanite
idolatry can be traced back to Nimrod the founder of the
Babylon Mystery Religion.

The house of Israel and the house of Judah were corrupted
at THE HIGH PLACES when they took over the symbols
of  Canaanite worship.  Christianity has done the very same
thing!  The Lord is calling his people to come out of
Babylon:

1    And after these things I saw another angel come
down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was
lightened with his glory.

2    And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying,
Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the
habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a
cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

3    For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath
of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have
committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the
earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her
delicacies.

4    And I heard another voice from heaven, saying,
COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE,  that ye be not
partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

5    For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God
hath remembered her iniquities."    Rev 18:1-5

Some work has been done by the heroes of yesteryear; but a
great work remains before the Lord returns.  Now, the
major work of  reformation  is to restore the seventh day
Sabbath that honors the Creator.
 When Jesus Christ
returns, the bride of Christ  will be without spot or wrinkle.

here are they that keep the commandments of God,
and the faith of Jesus."  Rev 14:12 KJV)
