Revelation 1: 8 //The Alpha and Omega is not the Almighty

The error comes from a forced interpretation of Rev 1:8 which seems to
say that the Lord God is calling Himself the Alpha and Omega.  Rev 1:8
reads:

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the
Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty."

However, it is not Jesus who is saying the He is the Alpha and Omega,
It is the The Father (the Almighty God) who "saith" that Jesus is the
Alpha and Omega. To make it easier to understand simply put the subject
first and it reads:

The Lord, which is and was and is to come, the Almighty, saith:

"I [Jesus] am the Alpha and the Omega."

It is Jesus speaking, and He is saying that it is The
Almighty Father that  "saith" (declares) that Jesus is the
Alpha and  Omega.  (The Greek word for "saith" is lego
(3004) present,  active, indicative, which means that it is
a statement of fact, being declared by the subject of the
     sentence.)

The "Almighty" is the subject of the sentence.  It is important to
note that in the beginning of this passage the Greek text says:

"The Revelation of Jesus Christ which The God
        gave to Him [Jesus]"

It is God Almighty (the God) who is giving the revelation of Jesus
Christ, not Jesus.    Jesus is the Alpha and Omega because the Almighty,
which is and was and is to come, has revealed it and "saith" it to be
so.

 See Rev 1:4f...

"John to the churches....from HIM WHICH IS, AND WHICH WAS,
AND WHICH IS TO COME...AND from Jesus Christ...."

As you can see in that verse, John obviously did not think that the one
"which is, and which was, and which is to come" was Jesus Christ.

In order to understand this relationship between the "Almighty God,
who was and is and is to come" and His Son Jesus, "the Alpha and Omega"
and prove they are not the same God simply take a close look at how they
are distinguished in Revelation chapters 4 and 5...

REVELATION CHAPTER FOUR:

HERE, THERE IS ONE ON THE THRONE...THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY
                              ^^^

4:2  a throne was set in  heaven, AND > ONE < SAT ON THE THRONE.

4:8  THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY WHICH WAS AND IS AND IS TO COME.
                            ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

4:9  to > HIM < THAT SAT ON THE THRONE, who liveth for ever and ever,

4:10  The four and twenty elders fall down before > HIM < that sat on
the throne, and worship > HIM < that liveth for ever and ever,

REVELATION CHAPTER FIVE

HERE THERE ARE TWO...GOD ALMIGHTY (HIM) AND THE LAMB

5:1  in the right hand of > HIM < THAT SAT ON THE THRONE a book .

5:6  in the midst of the elders, stood a > LAMB < as it had been slain,

5:7  took the book out of the right hand of > HIM < THAT SAT ON THE
    THRONE.

5:8  and four and twenty elders  fell down before the > LAMB <,

5:9  for > THOU < wast slain, and hast redeemed us to >GOD< (Gk THE God)

                                         (1)
5:13  power, BE UNTO > HIM < THAT SITTETH UPON THE THRONE,
                                        (2)
and UNTO THE  > LAMB < for ever and ever.

                                         (1)                                                   (2)
  >>>>>> THE  LORD  GOD  ALMIGHTY  IS  NOT  THE  LAMB!

If Jesus (the Lamb) was the Lord God Almighty then Jesus came to the
Throne where the Lord God Almighty sat and took the scroll from his own
right hand.  No, there was ONE God Almighty on the Throne, and one Lamb
who came to Him.

I realize that there are believers out there who are so immersed in
the doctrine of the Trinity, that they would look at that vision of the
throne and say:  See that proves that they are "One".  Jesus took the
scroll from his own right hand!  I hope you have clearer eyes.

****  VERSES REFERRING TO GOD ALMIGHTY ****

REV 4:2  And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne
was set in heaven, and >ONE< sat on the throne.  [The Lord God
Almighty]

REV 4:8  And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him;
and they were full of eyes within: and They rest not day and night,
saying, Holy, holy, holy, LORD GOD ALMIGHTY which was, and is, and is
to come.

REV 4:9  And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to HIM
THAT SAT ON THE THRONE, who liveth for ever and ever,

REV 4:10  The four and twenty elders fall down before HIM that sat on
the throne, and worship HIM THAT LIVETH FOR EVER AND EVER, and cast
their crowns before the throne,

REV 4:17  Saying, We give thee thanks, O LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, which art,
and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great
power, and hast reigned.

REV 21:22  And I saw no temple therein: for THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY
AND THE LAMB are the temple of it.  [The Father, God Almighty is
clearly distinguished from Jesus, the Lamb]

**** VERSES REFERRING TO THE LAMB ****

THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA
THE FIRST AND THE LAST            =      JESUS CHRIST
THE BEGINNING AND THE ENDING

REV 1:11  [Jesus] Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:
and, what thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven
churches which are in Asia;

REV 1:17  And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid
his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I AM THE FIRST AND THE
LAST:

18  I am HE THAT LIVETH  AND WAS DEAD; and, behold, I am alive for
evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

REV 2:8  And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These
things saith THE FIRST AND THE LAST, WHICH WAS DEAD, and is alive;

REV 21:6  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the
beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain
of the water of life freely.7  He that overcometh shall inherit all things;
and I WILL BE HIS GOD, and he shall be my son.

REV 22:13  I am ALPHA AND OMEGA, the beginning and the end, the first
and the last....16  I JESUS have sent mine angel to testify unto you
these things in the  churches. I am the root and the offspring of David,
and the bright and  morning star.

Note: Jesus never refers to himself as "the one who was, and is and
is to come.  However, He does refer to himself as the one who
was dead. The Lord God Almighty was never dead.
