Hi. I do lessons for adults, and if an adult is experienced enough, they can practice their skills and work with some independence, but I don't do horse rentals.
I charge $50 for an hour lesson or $40 each for two people which includes instruction on grooming, tacking up, and we usually do groundwork before riding, but if you have zero interest in groundwork we don't have to do too much.
I keep riders on the lunge line until they start to develop an independent seat, and as they progress we will do more lunge line work every so often. If your seat is ok you can do some independent riding right away but we do always practice on the lunge frequently. My goal is to develop horsemanship skill with empathy for the horse, so it's not like renting a horse and not getting any instruction and just going out and riding around on your own.
However even very experienced riders always have more stuff they can work on! And the price is a bit less than hourly rentals on the coast, plus I'm a lot closer than the coast! :-)
