THE BATTLE CRY

THE BATTLE CRY

An ancient warrior lifts his sword and cries out the name of his God.  His war-cry is like the sound of a trumpet that pierces through the heavens and the earth --for he is sounding his alarm to be saved from his enemies.  His God has given him a promise ...

"And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets;

and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies."  Num 10:9

For truth and righteousness, the warrior takes his stand as he calls upon the name of  the LORD the King of Israel.

His battle cry is for God's enabling power and protection as he faces his powerful enemy.  He must have the invincible Holy Spirit of God to fight his battle for him! That alarm of
his trumpet is like no other sound on earth; for, it is the cry of a child of the only true God shouting "HELP!"

"Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel ...  I am the first, and I am the last; and **beside me there is no God.** ... FEAR YE NOT, NEITHER BE AFRAID ..." . Isa 44:6-8 (KJV)

The people of God must be strong in the Lord and the power of His might to possess their inheritance in that kingdom of righteousness where God reigns.

The enemy advances toward  them furiously until he hears their battle-cry.  Then, the devil must flee; for he has no war-cry that can overcome THE LORD OF HOSTS who promises to protect his people and give them peace.

"And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children. In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression;      for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake ...

... No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD."  Isa 54:13-17 (KJV)

... and so it is written, "All these things happened unto them [ancient Israel] for examples:  and they are written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the world are come."  I Cor 10:11

For victory over sin, the Christian warrior must also lift his sword (The Word of God);  and,  invoke the name of The LORD the King of Israel for aid and protection.

"For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for **the same Lord** over all is rich UNTO ALL THAT CALL UPON HIM.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord SHALL BE SAVED."  Rom 10:12-13 (KJV)

The God of Israel is the CREATOR of the heavens and the earth. He said:

"REMEMBER  the sabbath day, to keep it holy.  Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:  But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do       any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed        it." Exod  20:8-11

Jesus is our kinsman-redeemer who has been given all power and authority in heaven and in earth!  After His resurrection, He gave the eleven disciples the great commission when he told them  to teach all nations* (gentiles and Jews) to observe all that he had commanded them.

Under the new covenant, gentiles and Jews who have faith in Jesus and keep the Commandments of God are the true Israel of God.

"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

James 4:7 (KJV)

* Please read Matthew 28:18-20

"Nations (ethnos)  Like the Hebrew 'goyim,' ethne: has the basic meaning of 'nations', but also, by extension, 'foreign countries.'  And since Israel is a religious state, the word is
further extended to mean 'pagan lands.'  Similarly, 'ethnikoi', which means the 'nationals' of a certain country, is extended to mean 'foreigners' and 'pagans.'  An example of the
original meaning is 'Go out and teach all nations' (Matthew 28:19)"
