Why does one need new life in Christ
10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in [ Christ Jesus our Lord. ] a
8:36 What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?
2. Aren't "good works" enough to obtain eternal life?
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– 9not by works, so that no one can boast.
3:23 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
3. Is faith important to new life in God?
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
4. What must one do to have eternal life?

5. Can one really have the assurance of eternal life?
16:31 31They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved–you and your household.”
9That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
6. Are there many ways to God?
6Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 1 Timothy 2:5 5For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
7. Will Jesus accept anyone regardless of the past?
8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
6:37 37All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
8. Can anybody's sins be completely forgiven?
1:18 18 "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD . "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
9. How does one know that God will listen?
10:13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.
Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.
10. What happens when one accepts Christ?
5:17 17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
Isaiah 55:7 "Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD , and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
11. What is one's relationship to God after receiving Christ?
1:12 12Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God–

1How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
