Regarding Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Men
Joey Felts wrote:  "Dinosaurs where extinct before humans walked the Earth huh? I think not. All land animals were created on the 6th day."

Donna quotes Genesis 1:1

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

A whole lot of understanding can come if we know that after Genesis 1:1 the earth [became] void.

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was [became] without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

That is what the Prophet Isaiah is saying here:

Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, HE CREATED IT NOT IN VAIN, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

Notes:

Genesis 2 And the earthH776 wasH1961 without form,***H8414*** and void;H922 and darknessH2822 was uponH5921 the faceH6440 of the deep.H8415 And the SpiritH7307 of GodH430 movedH7363 uponH5921 the faceH6440 of the waters.H4325

18 ForH3588 thusH3541 saithH559 the LORDH3068 that createdH1254 the heavens;H8064 GodH430 himselfH1931 that formedH3335 the earthH776 and madeH6213 it; heH1931 hath establishedH3559 it, he createdH1254 it notH3808 in vain,***H8414*** he formedH3335 it to be inhabited:H3427 IH589 am the LORD;H3068 and there is noneH369 else.H5750

Notice H8414 in both verses. They indicate that a great chaos came to the universe after Genesis 1:1 and before Genesis 1:3. Other scriptures tell us that God is not the author of confusion.

That would explain how dinosaurs, prehistoric men and other forms of life could have lived on earth for millions of years before Genesis 1:2

Harold Kupp adds:

the Hebrew word for "was" in Genesis 1:2 is:

H1961
היה
hâyâh
haw-yaw'
A primitive root (compare H1933); to exist, that is, be or **become **, come to pass (always emphatic, and not a mere copula or auxiliary):

Gen 1:2 And the earth** was ** (H1961) without form, and void

As you can see it can be translated "become"

H1961
היה
hâyâh
BDB Definition:

1) to be, become, come to pass, exist, happen, fall out

Like it or not the earth is older than 6 thousand years - for those who are interested this is called the "gap theory".
