“Even nonrelated crows or ravens pull together to their mutual benefit. Pity the poor owl or hawk whose presence is announced by an alarm-sounding corvid[crow] —neighborhood crows or ravens will rush to harass the bird until it leaves.” Mother Earth News

For years, our old dog had chased the sea-gulls to no avail --They would always fly away. Today, she saw a crow that couldn‘t fly and eagerly took a step toward it. Suddenly, another crow appeared, cawing angrily, and flying into her face. That crow did not fear man or beast. When Harold turned and started to walk away, the crow chased him and dive-bombed his head.

Perhaps, even the “unclean” crows can teach us about our duty to protect the weak.
