“Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.” 2 Pe 1:12
“IN THE PRESENT TRUTH" From that phrase come many inventions and heresies that are doctrines of demons and “another gospel.”
"Present Truth" must agree with the truth that Jesus taught. Anyone who "adds to" or "diminishes from" the gospel that Jesus preached is either deceived --or a deceiver. The covenant that was ratified with the blood of Jesus Christ CAN NEVER BE CHANGED! After His resurrection, Jesus said these words to His apostles:
“ …All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: ***Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you***: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20
Read those words: "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." No apostle, or teacher, has the authority to contradict or change the truth that Jesus taught.
Jamieson, Fausset & Brown comments: “— the Gospel truth now present with you: formerly promised to Old Testament believers as about to be, now in the New Testament actually present with, and in, believers, so that they are “established” in it as a “present” reality.” .
