DIVISIVE - “causing a lot of disagreement between people and causing them to separate into different groups.” Merriam-Webster Online.
According to that defintion, The Sacred Names groups are “divisive!” They cannot even agree among themselves on the correct way to pronounce the name of the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
When we read scriptures like this, let’s use the precepts that are taught by Jesus and the apostles instead of phonetics:
Rom_10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(If that verse is referring to the phonetics of a verbal pronunciation, then a deaf-mute could not be saved.)
Jesus and the apostles teach us that we must have faith and obedience to be justified and call upon the Lord to give us the enabling power to overcome temptation.
