Seeking the Lost
Dear Jesus,
I read in Scripture this morning (Luke 15:1-10) "The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to Jesus, but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain........"
I wondered 'What was it that attracted the tax collectors and sinners to 'draw near'? It seems that people haven't changed much over the centuries. I can't imagine that they 'drew near' if they felt condemned in any way. I think you must have offered them something - HOPE maybe. You sought them out and I think You assured them that despite how the Pharisees and Scribes treated them, that God LOVED them. It's as simple as that. I find it hard to believe that these people would have 'drawn near' to listen to You point out their sins and condemn their lifestyles.
I am humbled to be called a Christian; a follower of You.
Fill me with Your LOVE and send me out to help You seek and save all who are still lost. May all who come in contact with me understand only that they are LOVED by God - their Father in Heaven. Let me always leave it to You to address any concerns You have over their behavior. May my words be few and my actions be many to convey Your love.
