WHAT IS CHRISTIANITY’S OPINION ABOUT FORNICATION?

 

A Reader asks: “What is Christianity’s opinion about fornication?

 

Donna writes: Let the Apostle Paul answer your question. He tells the church not to fellowship with a brother who is a fornicator.

 

“But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.” 1 Corinthians 5:11

 

Paul tells us that fornicators, adulterers and people who commit other sexual sins will not inherit eternal life --and to think otherwise is to be deceived.

 

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10

 

Jesus Christ (The Judge) warns the churches that whoremongers will have their part in the lake of fire:

 

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8

 

Why would any Christian want to deceive himself and perish on judgment day?
