10 Keys to Truly Follow Jesus

(1) Know Who Goes To Heaven
Romans 10:9
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord
and believe in your heart
that God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved.  NLT

Not everyone who calls out to me, 'Lord! Lord!'
will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Only those who actually do
the will of my Father in heaven will enter.  NLT
Mark 8:35
If you try to hang on to your life,
you will lose it.
But if you give up your life for my sake
and for the sake of the Good News,
you will save it.  NLT
Mark 4:19
but all too quickly the message is crowded out
by the worries of this life,
the lure of wealth,
and the desire for other things,
so no fruit is produced.  NLT

(2) Therefore, Give Up Your Own Way

you must
give up your own way,

and he will give you everything you need.  NLT

chasing your own desires,
but you will be anxious to do the will of God.  NLT

(3) And Be Careful to Do Everything
Joshua 1:8
meditate on it day and night,
so that you may be careful
to do everything written in it.
Then you will be prosperous and successful.  NIV
James 1:25
But whoever looks intently
into the perfect law that gives freedom,
and continues in it—
not forgetting what they have heard,
but doing it—
they will be blessed in what they do.  NIV

(4) Trust God to Save You
Ephesians 2:8
God saved you by his grace
when you believed.
And you can’t take credit for this;
it is a gift from God.  NLT
1 Peter 3:18
Christ suffered for our sins
once for all time.
He never sinned,
but he died for sinners
to bring you safely home to God.
He suffered physical death,
but he was raised to life in the Spirit.  NLT
