Devote Myself To Doing What Is Good
September 11, 2004
Read Titus 3 today. v1-2 "Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men." and v8 "This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone."
God wants me:
- to be ready to do whatever is good
- be careful to devote themselves (myself) to doing what is good
- "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." Galatians 6:10
A partial definition of good is in the rest of v1,2 and v8
I am to be devoted to doing good. How to know if I am? Am I known as one who is devoted to doing good? God wants me (and all Christians) to excel at doing good for others.
Lord, help me to know today, when you want me to do good instead of following my schedule. Help me to be especially good to all I come into contact with today. To encourage those who need encouraging, to challenge those who need challenging, and to do good for those who need it.
