Cone Crusher Liners: What To Choose And When To Change
Cone crushers were invented over a century ago for secondary, tertiary and even the removal of quaternary materials.
Like other compression crushers, Cone Crushers have the crushing chamber, or cavity where the rock is crushed into smaller dimensions. Cone Crushers are equipped with crushing chambers. It is the space between the concaves and mantle, which is the moving piece of steel. Concaves and mantles are protected from daily wear by replaceable manganese liners.
Selecting a Cone Crusher liner
There are numerous liners for both fine and coarse feeds. But which one you select will depend on a number of elements. The most crucial factor when it comes to Cone Shredder Parts selection is the feed.
You must have a graded feed entering the crushing chamber. A well-graded feed is generally considered as:
Closed-side feed openings are passing 90-100% There are those who examine 80% of the open side too and choose the lower one of two.
40-60% passing the midpoint.
Closed-side Setting Closed-side Setting: 0-10%
Matching the entire feed gradation and not just the feed size is essential so you can make use of your chamber to the maximum. In order to achieve the ideal reduction in throughput and efficiency, it is crucial to use all of the crushing chamber possible.
Your top feed size will determine the feed size of your plant and the output of the previous crushing stage. This will determine the maximum opening of the cavity. The top feed size is not the only factor that determines the opening of your cavity. Openings for cavities that are larger than the feed size lead to poorly utilized reductions and liners.
If the feed size is not large enough, the majority of the crushing happens in the lower part of the cavity, which means that the bottom of the liner will wear out faster than the top of the liners. Insufficient reduction ratios will result in a reduction in production. The power limit of the crusher is exceeded at a minimal volume level, and you'll run the risk of improper bearing alignment.
The majority of wear and tear on Mill Liners Foundry occurs just prior to the parallel zone (the narrowest space between the mantle's and concaves, where the final crushing takes place) However, this wear will be accentuated in the event that the feed isn't adequate, and you'll end up having a bowled-out, swollen pocket prior to the parallel zone too quickly.
On the other hand, if the feed size is too fine the feed material is likely to keep flowing within the feed opening causing the top of the liner to wear quicker. Because the feed opening is bridged over, production decreases and throughput decreases. The final product will have an output that is coarser and will be more slender than cubical. When the power draw is minimal the limit of volume is exceeded.
Understanding your gradation going into the crusher helps you to select the best Shredder Parts configuration that will help you achieve your production goals. A well-chosen liner will provide you with a more effective nip, and allow for more flexibility to adjust other parameters such as the closed-side settings.
