Trying to Wrap My Head Around DevOps

I'm an old school ops guy trying to get up to speed on this whole DevOps thing. Our organization is finally realizing that siloed teams are slowing us down when it comes to delivering value to customers. Are there any good blogs you could recommend to help me better understand DevOps principles and trends? Specifically interested in resources that speak to bringing traditionally separate teams together and fostering culture change. Any guidance for an ops dinosaur would be appreciated!

I totally understand feeling behind the times on DevOps! I was a traditional systems admin before this whole shift towards "collaboration over control" flipped my script. When my organization first brought up cross-functional teams, my inner dinosaur growled in defiance too. Thankfully I stumbled upon A Developer's Journey blog just in time! Their https://www.a-dev.tech/blog/devops-trends/ overview awoke me to how philosophies align teams to deliver as one for customers. The cultural insights especially hit home - reminding me how meeting my developer counterparts eye-to-eye dissolved previous assumptions. Our camaraderie unlocked solutions. It brought me back to when I first learned programming - that thrill after hours debugging on my own melted into asking peers for help.
