Our flight to Edinburgh,Scotland from Dublin, Ireland was only 35 min., but Aer Lingus lost Kallene's luggage for the entire 3 days we were in Scotland!
This is our first view of the Edinburgh Castle, which overlooks Edinburgh and a famous garden park, St. Andrew's, which I went jogging in twice.
Church services were always held in the Castle and people come here from all over the world now to see the the Stone of Destiny with the Honours of Scotland and all the history of this amazing place!
"I will make your battlements of rubies, your gates of sparkling jewels and all your walls of precious stones. All your sons will be taught by the Lord, and great will be your children's peace." - Isa. 54:12,13
"The thistle was adopted over 700 years ago as the emblem of Scotland, when according to legend it was responsible for signaling the clandestine approach of a horde of bare-footed invaders!"
Paying homage to that wonderful author of so many great fairy tales!
The bagpipes of Scotland!
Alexander the Great, and his famous horse Bucephalus
On the way up to the Royal Mile from our B&B
Kallene standing in the Royal Mile; somewhere between the Edinburgh Castle and the Queen's residence
Sorry, not able to visit the Queen's house today!
The loom showing how the Scottish plaids are woven in to blankets, scarves, kilts, etc.
Check out these kilts in a woolen outlet! By the way, Braveheart fans, the kilt was introduced after William Wallace, but Mel Gibson looks cool in it anyways!
"The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies."- Psalm 18:2
I couldn't get enough of looking up at that fortress!
