Katharine's Bridal Shower

Katharine's Bridal Shower
On January 12th, 2008, Katharine's godmother, Malinda Pretz hosted a bridal shower.  Lovely fruit punch was served before lunch.  We played a bridal game, which broke the ice nicely.  Malinda passed around a roll of toilet paper, asking us to take as many sheets as we wanted.  Then, we told one thing about ourselves  for each sheet of paper we had taken!  Great icebreaker.

Arrival of the bride to be...

Sarah and Jeanine Fiege, long time family friends...

Mom with one of Katharine's college friends, Meredith.

Nancy Carr, our
former associate pastor, Diane Rehfield and our pastor's wife, Tina.

Alicia, Katharine's boss on the far left.

Nanny Marie in fine form, having a good time!

Elegant table setting on table 1

Flower centerpiece

Our delicious lunch - Crepes and salad which had an interesting ginger taste.  Malinda is a great cook.

Table 2: Malinda, Kathy Daniels, Alicia, Jeanine, Sarah and Katharine's roommate, Meredith.

Delicious cake for dessert!  Tea was served as well.

The presents to be opened!

Nanny Marie entertains us with a story about marriage.

Cassie, Katharine's matron of honor, and Cassie's mother, Kathy.

A jovial mood is infectious, as Katharine begins to open her gifts.

Towels!!!!!!!

And more towels which have Katharine and William on them.

This is Alicia's present, who made that glorious bow all by herself.

Cookware!

Table place mats.

And cloth napkins to go along them.

Kitchen tools

Wooden spatula and other gadgets.

Cutting board and utensils

Unique measuring spoons which offer the usual measurements, but also have a set of spoons which measure  such things as a pinch.

Kathy is making the rehearsal bouquet out of the ribbons.

Someone made a joke about the gift card being wrapped in a huge amount of paper.

Cannisters!

The finished bridal bouquet!

The final game which ended the shower: Guests wrote out advice for a happy marriage. The papers were put in Katharine's new waste basket. Katharine read each one aloud and had to guess who had written it.

Katharine and Malinda

The group, minus Nancy who had to leave to go to a rehearsal.

Good times to remember fondly.
