The cyclist, that is, me, ended up on the hood of the car. My first instinct was to grab the steering wheel and try to avoid being hit. For a moment that seemed like an eternity, I was in the air. This was followed by a blow and a fall onto the asphalt. The force of the blow was strong and I felt pain. When I looked back, my bike was damaged and the car was stopped on the road. I slowly stood up and looked around. Luckily, nothing serious happened. The helmet I wore saved my head, and my injuries were limited to a few scrapes and bruises.
We called the police to file an accident report. The police officer examined the scene of the incident, the bicycle, the car in detail and gave us a form to fill out.
A few hours later we completed all the formalities and I went to work, but this incident left me with a lot to think about.
