This swim club posts a 3-day scroll on the home page with a link immediately below 'Click here to view full calendar', links to a page with the full month view (see next screen shot).

This library website has a *very tiny* calendar. Can you find it? It's on the right side in the middle, with black triangle arrows and 'Friday, Nov 19' title. You can configure your day scroll to be as small as 1 day in size and you control the width and height dimensions. Notice that under the 1 day calendar is a link 'Click for Complete Calendar' (see next screen shot).
Clicking the link on the home page takes the Library visitor to this full month view of the library schedule. Notice nice use of font colors to make the hours and holidays stand out.

The KeepandShare event view displays upcoming riding centre events in handsome gray color scheme. Event view is configured to 'skip' empty days that do not have events entered.
Upcoming events are listed on the left for this elementary school in their tan & brown color scheme. Notices the unlimited text you can enter a day box - in this case with all the details of an upcoming school dance. 
Here is a temple's public worship schedule. They get my award for beautifully blending the calendar in with their website. You choose the width & height of your calendar, and the day boxes automatically scale to fit. Notice how KeepandShare automatically displays the blue 'more...' if there is more text than can fit in the day.
A candidate for U.S. Congress posts his campaign calendar in both day scroll and month view formats, and with colors that match his website.
