TO DAY WILL YOU HEAR HIS VOICE?
TO DAY WILL YOU HEAR HIS VOICE?
Today, is man's day. It is the time of grace that our merciful God has given man to give his opinions and make his decisions and judgments. The writer of Hebrews said:
"Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief*, in departing from the living God.
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief*. Hebrews 3:12-19
Look! That message was addressed to brethren --not the people of the world who are condemned already. Christians are warned that if they do not obey God; then, they are really unbelievers who will not inherit eternal life.
"(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.)" Romans 2:13
Today is man's day. God has given you this day to make your decisions --and you are responsible for the choices that you make -- for there is an appointed day when Jesus Christ will judge all men. Jesus said:
"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. ...
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie." Revelation 22:12-15
If a person does not have right to the tree of life, then they do not have eternal life. It is written: "When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby." Ezekiel 33:18

*unbelief - Apeitheta is always rendered "disobedience" in the R.V. Disobedience - apeitheta - the condition of being unpersuadable... denotes obstinacy, obstinate rejection of the will of God; hence disobedience.
