SITUATION ETHICS

SITUATION ETHICS

To be a true Christian is to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Yet, many people call themselves a Christian who have no faith and have never repented. Their choices are based upon situation ethics instead of the Ten Commandments of God.

The very first step to become a Christian is to have faith in God and repent of your sins by submitting to the authority of Jesus Christ. If you don’t obey the seventh-day Sabbath commandment*, you have not fully repented. If you think that you must disobey God to provide for your family, you do not have genuine faith. Situation ethics are the phony reasons you give for your disobedience to the fourth commandment; the apostle Paul called them “imaginations.”

"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and
bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;" 2 Cor 10:5 (KJV)

If you don’t reject every rebellious thought, you do not love God; you are not in the kingdom of God and you are still a child of the devil!

“He that committeth sin [transgression of the law] is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8

Situation ethics allows you to think that you are serving God; but you are really only serving mammon. The truth is: you love your job and the money that you earn instead of Jesus!

"He who hath my commandments and KEEPS THEM, he it is who loves ME" John 14:21 RSV

THE SABBATH COMMANDMENT --EXODUS 20:8-11

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and *do all thy work*: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and **rested the seventh day**: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it." Exod 20:8-11 (KJV)
